Commentary from Tim Sale: Black and White: "One of the things that I really enjoy doing, and that people seem to like, is the way that Bruce relates with Selina/Catwoman. I always play up how Bruce stands up to Selina, whereas Batman is totally taken aback by Catwoman's aggressiveness; he doesn't know what to do with it. I enjoy playing with their facial expressions and body language. "My concept of it is that, without the costume, Bruce is much more closed-off emotionally, he's self-protective because he is less comfortable. As Batman, he is more at ease because the outfit allows him distance -- but that means that Catwoman can get under his skin. And she is totally great, this sexy tits-in-your-face beauty who enjoys her effect on men, but who also uses that to create an emotional distance to protect herself."
